Carnage Beginning Chorus
This course is open to all students interested in singing. No audition is required. Beginning Chorus is a quarter-long class designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of singing by learning quality music, vocal technique, music literacy, and performance. The students will perform one concert per quarter.
Carnage Intermediate Chorus
Audition required. Intermediate Chorus is a year-long intermediate course that allows students to develop musicianship at a higher level. Students will sing a variety of songs in unison and two-part harmony, develop aural skills through sight-reading practice, and perform in multiple concerts throughout the school year. Students are eligible to sign up for participate in NC Sings, All-County Chorus, All-State Chorus, & NC Honors Chorus.
Carnage Concert Chorus
Audition required. Concert Chorus is a year-long upper intermediate course that allows students to develop musicianship at a higher level. Students will sing a variety of songs in two-part harmony, develop aural skills through sight-reading practice, and perform in multiple concerts throughout the school year. Students are eligible to sign up to participate in NC Sings, All-County Chorus, All-State Chorus, & NC Honors Chorus.
Carnage Honors Chorus
Audition required. Honors Chorus is Carnage’s advanced choral ensemble. Singers will develop strong leadership through development of refined choral techniques, rigorous exercise in ear-training and sight-singing, and the study and performance of challenging and diverse repertoire. Honors Chorus singers will perform in multiple concerts throughout the year. This class also performs at school, athletic, and community events and field trips, including Music Performance Adjudication (MPA). Students are eligible to sign up to participate in NC Sings, All-County Chorus, All-State Chorus, and NC Honors Chorus.
