Purpose:
This instructional unit aims to help 3rd-grade students craft a narrative essay with a clear story structure, well-developed story elements, and a logical sequence.
Unit Objectives:
Students will formulate ideas for narrative writing by brainstorming and making notes within graphic organizers.
Students will develop a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Students will describe characters, settings, and events utilizing vivid details.
Students will organize their writing in a logical sequence.
Directions:
You will explore the creative writing process by going to the top of this page and clicking on different sections.
First, click on the Introduction tab at the top of the Home page to learn how to start crafting your essay and the elements that go into that part.
Next, click on the Beginning of the Story to learn how to start writing your story.
Go to the Middle section next to explore what should go into the middle of your story.
Then, click on the End of the Story to learn about writing an effective ending to your story.
Finally, go to the Assessment where you will find a quiz and a survey.
