What is TED?
TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing powerful ideas through short, impactful talks. Originally founded in 1984 as a conference focused on technology and design, TED has since evolved into a global platform that covers a vast range of topics, including science, business, psychology, education, and social issues. Its mission, captured in the slogan “Ideas Worth Spreading,” is to inspire curiosity, innovation, and meaningful discussions. TED Talks are delivered by experts, innovators, and thought leaders, typically lasting no more than 18 minutes to ensure they are concise yet compelling. These talks are freely available online, making knowledge accessible to millions of people worldwide. Additionally, TED supports independently organized TEDx events, allowing local communities to host their own TED-style conferences. By providing a space for intellectual exchange and thought-provoking conversations, TED continues to be a leading force in shaping global discussions and inspiring positive change.

The TEDxUskudarAmericanAcademyYouth2025 event, held on May 22nd with the theme "Behind the Scenes," featured four speakers, three of whom were from our school. Among the speakers were Türkiye's renowned psychiatrists Ebru Tuay, Zeynep Küçükmustafa, Zeynep İyigün, Ela Nur Halil, and Hande Özcan, each sharing a wide range of ideas and thoughts with the audience.
