Charity Navigator is a widely respected charity evaluation tool that was developed in 2001. Their goal is to help and protect donors by having professionals investigate a charity’s financial health, transparency, and accountability. You can find information for over 9,000 charities on their site.

Better Business Bureau - In addition to listing reputable businesses, the Better Business Bureau also includes a list of non-profits that meet its criteria.

IRS – You can find a list of all charities and non-profits under the 501(c)(3) and (c)(4) tax code on the Internal Revenue Services site.

The Foundation Center is also a good source to utilize for information regarding grant making foundations and nonprofits.
