The 4th Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration will educate and engage the Tarrant County College community. Día de los Muertos is a traditional Hispanic celebration that honors the lives of loved ones who are deceased. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the historical background of this amazing tradition and are invited to create a video regarding the symbolism of Día de los Muertos in their family for a chance to win a scholarship.
Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, is observed around the fall maize harvest November 1 and November 2 (All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day on the Catholic calendar).
Learn about the symbolism of altars and the ofrendas (offerings) that adorn them through an animated video.
