This year’s Abrazando al Exito is themed "La Lucha y La Cultura" (The Fight, The Struggle, & The Culture) , This event is designed to embrace the many successes of the Hispanic heritage and the great strides in the culture. There will be a guest speaker, entertainment, and food. The Banquet will continue to be a scholarship opportunity for those participating in the 2021 Leadership Symposium event. In addition, we will be recognizing our Abrazando al Exito Scholarship recipient through the TCC Foundation and showcased in the pre-reception. Furthermore, Mr. Jose Angel Gutierrez, Professor Emeritus of Political Science and Founder of the Center for Mexican American Studies at University of Texas - Arlington, will provide the keynote address.
This event is free and open to Faculty/Staff/Students and Community Members.
Mr. Gutierrez will discuss the roles of Latina/o/x activism and civil rights movements in the past and present, how to become involved in contemporary civil rights activism, and advice for future activists. He is considered one of the Four Horsemen of the Chicano Movement.
Chamber Music Theatre is a unique performance format developed by the Core Ensemble featuring a marriage of theatrical narrative to chamber music performance.
