Abstracts

Abstract submission will open in August 2027.

Depending on abstract numbers, it may not be possible to allocate an oral presentation to everyone who has requested one.

To aid abstract selection, each abstract will be given a grade (0-5) to indicate its overall quality and suitability for contribution to this meeting. The selection of abstracts for oral presentations will be based on its grade (see criteria in the below table), as well as the following considerations:

• Diversity in research group and institution. More than one oral presentation from a given research group should not normally be delivered within a single session.

• Gender balance. The gender balance of speakers within a session may be considered, to ensure appropriate diversity of speakers.

• Career stage. The career stage of speakers within a/ session may be considered, to ensure appropriate diversity of speakers.

• Only one oral science presentation should be delivered by a given speaker.

These criteria are taken from the convenor guidelines for INQUA 2019 for abstract ranking and selection.

• Talks will be 12 minutes long with 3 minutes for questions.

• Please prepare your talk in PowerPoint or an equivalent format.

• Presenters are encouraged to limit oral presentations to a maximum of approximately 15 slides, and to carefully consider colour contrasts (such as dark text on light backgrounds).

• Please bring your presentation on a memory stick and upload it to the computer in the Peak Lecture Theatre, at the start of the conference of the start of the day, and within plenty of time prior to the start of the session that you are presenting in.

• Please note that it may not be possible to allocate an oral presentation to everyone who has requested one.

• Posters should be prepared at A0 size, preferably in landscape orientation.

• Presenters are encouraged to carefully consider colour contrasts (such as dark text on light backgrounds).

• It is recommended that you print your poster before you arrive in Sheffield. However, the SHU Print shop may be able to accommodate printing on site. We recommend you contact them first - The Print Shop - Sheffield Hallam University
