My name is Tucker Seth Smith, and I am currently a Senior at Midwestern State University, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Military History. I am the son of a college football coach and a real estate broker, and the oldest of four boys. I am also a proud Mississippian who understands the importance of faith, family, hard work, and loving your neighbor as yourself. The values that have shaped me over the past 21 years were instilled in me by many great men and women who took the time to pour into me.
My family is everything to me. Over the course of my life, they have always supported me in my endeavors, built me up, shown me kindness, and loved me unconditionally. I do not know what my life would look like without them, but I do know I sure am thankful to call them mine. When I am in a public setting, I am reminded of the last name I represent, and I take that responsibility very seriously.
I have always been passionate about serving. In particular, politics, as well as our justice system, have been intriguing to me from a young age. As a result, I would like to use my degree to potentially attend law school or begin a career of public service either as a government employee or in the private sector. However, first and foremost, I feel called to serve in our nation's military before I join the work force. I believe that to whom much is given, much is expected. This country has given me so much. Now, it's time for me to do my part. Before I can do that, I have to reach my academic goal of maintaining a 4.0 GPA, while also taking the initiative to take difficult classes that will sharpen my knowledge in my field of study.
