High School Graduation

Description: This was a picture taken of me at my high school graduation with my friends. I used it as the thumbnail for my Academics Page because it was the picture that most represented the pinnacle of my education and academics up to that point. However, one can only rely on their representation from high school for so long. In order to reflect my everchanging and growing academic journey, I see it necessary to update a picture to more accurately reflect my academic journey in college. 

Tarleton Field Trip

Description: This was a picture I took with a few of my high school friends on a tour we took at Tarleton State University. While at the time of creating my Learning Portfolio, it was one of the nicer pictures which actually represented my experiences. For obvious reasons, it was replaced because it no longer is the best representation my life and college experiences. 

MCOSME Trivia Night

Time Used: Fall 2024 (Only a couple of days)

Used For: Depiction of the audience turnout

Description: This was a picture I took while hosting our MCOSME Trivia Night at the end of the Fall 2024 semester. It was the only picture I had while initially fleshing out my Learning Portfolio, but I would later discover a picture taken from the audience perspective which encapsulated the event much better than my picture did, so I changed it out. 

Silver Jacket

Time Used: Fall 2023 - Spring 2025 

Used For: Thumbnail of the About Me page.

Description: This was a picture taken of me prior to a theatrical performance put on during my high school senior year. I am depicted wearing a flashy silver jacket as I prepare to go out and roleplay as Jerry Lee Lewis singing "Great Balls of Fire". I chose this picture to represent my "About Me" as for quite some time, it depicted what I believe my personality is despite the stereotypical nature of being a computer science major. However, it does represent the last high school era image that I used to affect the site's first impression, and thus, as I finish my halfway point in my college career, I think it has served it's purpose, being replaced with an image of me in an equally striking neon orange blazer.

NMUN 1

Time Used: Spring 2024 - Spring 2025

Description: This was a picture taken of myself and my NMUN-24 partner, Quintan, at the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations. For quite some time, this represented one of my peak college experiences, thus I left it as the thumbnail for the respective page. I initially had the idea to replace it with a similar image taken of me and my partner for the NMUN-25 conference, but I realized that I had a much better image to represent my experiences, and that was myself pictured with several fellow travelers outside of the Berlin Dome during my 2024 Study abroad session. 

Honors Evening of Excellence Recognition

Time Used: Spring 2024 - Spring 2025

Used For: Thumbnail of the Academics Page page.

Description: This was a picture taken of me at the 2024 Evening of Excellence after I received one of my recognition awards. I really appreciated the look of the image, and thus, it became the thumbnail for my Academics page and everything it represented. There was nothing inherently wrong with keeping it this way, but considering I earned the single-most prestigious student award for MSU, the Hardin Scholar, I figured that would have been a better depiction.
