During this term, LCC’s own Sigma Zeta Chapter was promoted from three stars to four!
The college project will continue as the chapter helps the college implement a Guided Pathways model by providing feedback on student experience.
PTK’s annual College Project allows chapters to work with their college’s administration. The administration and the chapter decide on a project that will help the college reach one of its goals. Lane is in the process of establishing a Guided Pathways model and has reached a stage where student input is needed, especially regarding First Year Experience. The chapter set out in Fall 2020 to create a focus group of PTK members and establish a plan for the continuation of chapter involvement in the Guided Pathways work in 2021.
Brian Janisch (chapter president), Nur Faiqa Nadira Zainul Anuar (former chapter treasurer who graduated in December), and Shawna Staff (PTK member/Honors Ambassador/All Oregon Academic Team Member) volunteered to participate in the focus group. They met with Associate Vice President Jennifer Frei and Project Manager Mike Sims in January and discussed their initial experiences at the college. Based on that feedback, Jennifer and Mike created a survey that will be sent out to chapter members.
