What does a yearbook contributor do?
If you enjoy taking pictures and attending a variety of events, then Photography may be a great way for you to contribute!
Photographers attend events, visit teams, clubs, and committees to capture those important Moments.
Photographers volunteer to cover events as they occur throughout the school year and can borrow the school camera or use their own!
Just a final note: Using photos from social media like Instagram or using cameras built in to devices like phones and tablets is not generally recommended because the photo quality when printed is not often as good and pictures may be pixelated
If you’re interested in selecting the photos that will be used on each page, designing the page layouts and determining the placement of pages in the book, then Page Design and Planning may be a great way to contribute.
You will be trained on all the programs you’ll need to use (including programs like photoshop, illustrator, and inDesign), so don’t worry about previous design experience!
If you like to create artwork, either through painting, pen and pencil, or through digital design programs like photoshop or procreate, then we need you!
Art Direction and Design is an important element of each yearbook, and students can contribute in multiple ways by designing the cover, content title pages, as well as providing special art inserts throughout the yearbook.
Do you like to communicate through writing? Team Yearbook is always looking for students who are interested in interviewing and writing about Holy Trinity’s amazing events and fantastic student athletes, artists, and leaders.
Being a journalist for yearbook is an area that doesn’t require previous experience, just the motivation to get out there and ask great questions!
What if I can't come to a weekly meeting?
We’ve set up a google classroom (join code: bywicdv or link here) and we’re setting up virtual meetings so if you can’t make it to the live meeting, you can check in online. The google classroom will post upcoming events that need coverage, so if you are interested in attending one of those events, you can just let Ms. Keats know!
What if I'm on another team right now?
If you have to be at practice or games for other extra-curricular commitments, but you still want to be part of Team Yearbook, use the google classroom to access the list of events and see what may work with your schedule!
What if I was too busy to join in September? Am I too late?
New members are ALWAYS welcome on Team Yearbook! Sometimes your other work, school, and extracurricular activities may need to come first. You can always participate in Team Yearbook when you have time to give!
