The purpose of the Women’s Empowerment Club is to create a safe place at Castaic High School for women to interact, inspire their peers, empower the next generation, and share their stories. It is critical that the young women of our community feel supported by their school and classmates. Fostering a bond of understanding between all women and their allies is the first step toward greater gender equality. By creating this space members will be able to exercise critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills.
Our club values the importance of education, research, and creativity, making our day-to-day operations especially unique on campus. Between in-person meetings, our board probes sociological dilemmas impacting women on the domestic and international scale. Each week members are able to gain knowledge about theories and societal issues that contribute to gender inequality in today's world.
Due to the subjective, abstract nature of many women's rights problems presented at meetings, members are given a free space to express their opinions. Stated by our code of conduct we are dedicated to fully supporting each and every scholar. Ultimately, our aim is to encourage young women to share their thoughts and narratives to promote intellectual discussion, debate, and empower one another.
