History

The Los Angeles Kings were founded in 1967 as an expansion team in the National Hockey League (NHL). Canadian entrepreneur Jack Kent Cooke paid $2 million to place one of the six expansion teams in Los Angeles. Since then, the Kings have clinched two Stanley Cup titles (in 2012 and 2014) and secured three conference championships.
