History

Founders of Starbucks Gordon Bowker, Zev Siegl, and Jerry Baldwin opened the first Starbucks in Seattle in 1971. Soon after its success, the coffee shop chain expanded to Chicago, Canada, California, Washington D.C., and New York. By 1996, Starbucks became a global chain and expanded to Japan, Europe, and China.
