Buca di Beppo was founded by Phil Roberts in 1993 in the basement of a Minneapolis apartment building, originally as "Buca Little Italy," to bring the lively atmosphere and family-style Italian dining of the Northeast to the Midwest. After being acquired by Parasole Restaurant Holdings, the name was changed and spun off as Buca, Inc
