Characters

The chief of police on Amity Island. He is married to Ellen Brody and have two sons, Michael and Sean. Martin's initial response to the first shark attack was to shut down the beaches, which was overruled by the mayor. He brings in marine biologist Matt Hooper to help fill him in on the info on shark attacks, and after another victim is killed by the shark, he hires Capt. Quint to take him and Hooper out to sea to hunt and kill the shark.

Marine biologist who Chief Brody turns to to confirm that the first known victim of the shark was indeed a victim of a shark attack and not the result of a boating accident. He helps Brody in his shark hunt for the rest of the movie.

Capt Quint is the owner of the charter fishing boat The Orca. Brody hires him to take them out on a hunting expedition to track down and kill the shark that has been terrorizing beachgoers on Amity Island.
