The first video ever uploaded to YouTube was titled “Me at the zoo.” It was uploaded by Jawed Karim on April 23, 2005, at the San Diego Zoo.
In the 19-second video, Jawed Karim stands in front of elephants and casually talks about their long trunks. Although simple, the video became a historic moment in internet history because it marked the beginning of YouTube.
The video quickly gained worldwide recognition as YouTube grew into the largest video-sharing platform in the world.
