Many in the world of baseball currently have the Los Angeles Dodgers winning the 2024 World Series. Coming off of an embarrassing loss to the Diamondbacks in the NLDS, the Dodgers have spent the offseason by spending over a billion dollars to hopefully rectify their recent embarrassment. The First major move was acquiring superstar Shohei Ohtani, paying him a whopping 700 million dollars over the life of his contract. However around 680 million of this will be paid to him when he is no longer on the team. Not stopping there, the dodgers traded for Tyler Glasnow, a great yet injury prone pitcher. The dodgers didn't stop here though, they went out and acquired Yoshinobu Yamamoto, an impressive pitching prospect from Japan. In recent news the dodgers have been adding more veteran players like Teoscar Hernandez, James Paxton, and some others of not important note. However what I think everyone is forgetting is the fact that our roster is already star studded before these players even signed. Players like Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, are all players that will continue to shine for the dodgers even with more help.Â
