Designed by Honda the 2001 Honda Civic was in production for 4 years, winning the Car of the Year award in Japan it has a flat floor optimizing comfort for its passengers with increased spaciousness. Its widespread recognition prompted assembly across the world spading across all of the Americas, Asia, and Europe.
The car later released a Hybrid version increasing fuel efficiency by 40% and in 2003 received a "facelift" with new headlights bumper and grille as well as brand new skirts and trims. This generation also started the cabin air filters for pollen which would begin to be implemented to all new models.
