Moray Council's Music Instruction & Performance team, part of the Sport & Culture Service, are running the Moray Regional Young Musician Competition in partnership with the Music Education Partnership Group (MEPG) Scottish Young Musicians and the Elgin & Forres Rotary Clubs.
Entries to the ASG competitions are open to any young person living and learning in Moray, regardless of standard. See 'Enter NOW!' for more information.
Entry is by submission of a pre-recorded performance, no longer than 5 minutes in length, and completion of the e-Entry Form.
Every competitor will be awarded a certificate, and trophies and Amazon vouchers will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
Deadline for entries to the ASG competitions: 4.00pm on Friday 13 December 2024.
ENTRY HAS NOW CLOSED
Competitions will be held in each ASG and are open to any young person living and learning in Moray, regardless of age or standard. The Principle Teachers of Music/Expressive Arts in each secondary school will adjudicate and select an ASG winner each.
One 'Primary Young Musician' will be awarded in each ASG.
One overall winner will also be seleted.
Each ASG winner will compete in the LIVE Moray Final on Tuesday 18 March 2025 for the title: 'Moray Young Musician 2024-25'.
The competition will be adjudicated by a panel of adjudicators still to be confirmed.
Moray's winner will then represent the region at the 'Scottish Young Musician - Solo Performer of the Year' competition on Sunday 25 May 2025 at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
