Current Registration Process

• Students meet with their advisors (FSYE advisors, faculty advisors)
• Use program plan or PAWS to determine what classes need to be taken
• Use PAWS or dynamic schedule to plan classes that will fit schedule

Problems with the current process

• Time consuming to plan courses based on degree requirements
• Students may not know where to look for resources
• How to use available resources
• Where to get forms and what forms are available
• Who is their advisor and how to find them
• Planning the weekly schedule is complicated

Proposed Solution

Florida Tech Course Planner is a Web Application and the scope is CS and SWE students. It will accomplish:

• Allow for assisted schedule creation and degree planning:
  • Based on classes a student has decided to take, our web app assists students in planning out classes for their schedule
  • Degree planner section assists CS and SWE students in knowing the upcoming classes they need to take
  • Section explorer allows easy navigation of course catalog for a given semester, providing filtering and sorting capabilities
• Downloadable registration form once made can allow student to print and show advisor
