About

When did Winter Wishes begin?

Winter Wishes began thirteen years ago in 2010, with wishes written on small pieces of paper and turned into our ASB class. Eventually, these pieces of paper became Google Forms as our program progressed and digitized, and our wish-granting process became what it is today. The wish-granting event has become a key event to our high school's spirit and is one that has drawn much attention over the years with news coverage by NBC Bay Area Proud.

A Quick Timeline of Winter Wishes

August: In August our Winter Wishes Coordinator begins their preparation for the upcoming school year. This includes updating forms and donation letters and creating the barebones structure for the logistics of the event.

October: Our winter wishes form goes out to the student body and wishes begin getting collected. The wish committee, a non-ASB group of students, also helps go through and minimize this list of wishes at the end of this month.

November: Wishes are assigned to members of the ASB class to grant in teams. Additionally, the planning for our Winter Week and Winter Wishes rally begins during this month.

December: Wishes are finally granted!
