Moravian College (now Moravian University) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was the birthplace of Alpha Alpha Alpha, also known as Tri-Alpha. Almost 100 Alpha Chapter members were initiated on that day, including undergraduate students, faculty, staff, alumni, and honorary members.
Following the successful induction, the College started measures to incorporate Alpha Alpha Alpha for chapters to be established in other schools around the country. Tri-Alpha is a non-profit (501(c)3) organization that exists to fund the operations of the honors society.
Students are eligible for Tri-Alpha induction if they meet the following criteria:
The student has completed at least 30 credit/semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) toward an associate's or bachelor's degree. The undergraduate student has a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. Neither the student's parents, step-parents, or legal guardians earned a bachelor's degree.
First-generation graduate students can be admitted provided they have completed the equivalent of at least one term of study (9 graduate credits or more) and have a GPA of 3.5 or above.
Our objective is to provide space for you to cultivate these qualities so that you can thrive in a collegiate context. We look forward to assisting you and giving you insight as you navigate your college experience through a series of sessions on student-faculty interactions, mental wellness, and academic readiness.
