What is the SHSM Sports Program?
The SHSM Sports major gives students the opportunity to gain sector-based skills and experience to prepare for a career in the sports industry.
This program Is designed for students In ALL pathways (Apprenticeship, Workplace, College, University and students enrolled in the IB program)

Over grade 11 and 12, every SHSM student will complete:
4 core SHSM credits
1 related art, business or science credit
1 Math
1 English
2 credit co-operative education

Ready to Apply?
Follow the procedure below to apply to the Sports SHSM program:
Discuss the opportunity with your parents. You'll need their recommendation for your application anyways, and they might have their own questions for you to ask
In MyBlueprint, you can express interest in the SHSM of your choice. On the right-hand side under Regional Programs, select Learn More. You can then find your program and select the one in which you are interested
Make an appointment with your guidance counselor in Student Services. They will answer your questions and work with you to plan your SHSM course bundle
Your counselor will provide you with an application form to complete online
Before being accepted, a program teacher (Mrs. Merrick) will contact you for your next steps

Reach Ahead
Reach ahead opportunities may vary from year to year. Students have the opportunity to interact with faculty and students during specialized tours of McMaster University, Sheridan College, Brock University as well as athletic facilities in the GTA.
