The Pratt Peer Advisors are Sophomores who assist first-year students’ transition to their new environment at Pratt Munson and are a friendly face around campus.
Responsibilities
Participate in Pratt Peer Advisor training:
Move in: August 17th, 2025 after 4:00 PM
Training starts: August 18th, 2025
Be available for the entire Orientation program. (August 20 - August 25, 2025)
Guide students and parents to their residence halls during check-in.
Be able to answer questions about Pratt Munson, and if you are unable to answer, be able to direct the student and/or parent to the proper person to get information.
Lead students in team building and get to know you exercises.
Make a connection with the new students so that they will have someone to approach with questions when their parents depart from campus.
Maintain an open dialogue with all your new peers, look for opportunities to share your Pratt Munson experience with new students.
Attend all opening week programming and encourage as many first-years and sophomores to attend as possible.
You must accrue at least 10 S.W.A.G. points by the end of the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year in order to receive the second half of your Pratt Peer stipend.
Be available and visible during Family and Alumni Weekend.
Serve as student tour guides as requested from the Admissions Director.
Selection Criteria
Must be a current first-year student with a 2.5 GPA at the time of the selection process.
Must be Connections Leadership trained prior to the start of Orientation. Connections Leadership training will be March 28th and April 4th Students must also attend another leadership workshop, date TBD.
Should not have a current conduct sanction of probation.
Should be positive about the Pratt Munson community.
Must show leadership potential and a desire to grow into a stronger leader.
Should show strong teamwork ability.
Should be responsible and accountable.
Must have a basic understanding of Pratt Munson and the resources available to all students.
Cannot be selected as an RA for the 2025-2026 academic school year.
