Mark Woollen & Associates is seeking a skilled IT Technician with experience in the entertainment advertising industry to join our team. As an IT Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the technology needs of our creative teams, ensuring seamless operation of the systems that bring our campaigns to life. This position requires strong technical knowledge, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot various systems and platforms. Candidates must be able to work on-site at our office in Santa Monica, CA.
Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues for creative teams working on movie trailers, digital ads, and other promotional materials.
Maintain and troubleshoot workstations, particularly high-performance systems used for video editing, graphic design, and post-production work
Ensure smooth operation of the company's internal network infrastructure, remote user’s VPN connections, and cloud-based collaboration tools (such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, Okta, Wiredrive, VanDam, and other file-sharing systems) for local and remote teams.
Manage media servers that store high-resolution video and other advertising assets, ensuring proper file organization and accessibility.
Monitor and enforce IT security protocols to safeguard sensitive movie marketing materials, trailers, and other pre-release content from leaks or breaches.
Set up and configure new workstations, monitors, and peripherals for employees, ensuring compatibility with creative software and editing systems.
Manage relationships with IT vendors, assist in purchasing decisions, and ensure proper licensing for software related to video editing, graphic design, and project management.
Implement and maintain robust backup strategies for critical data, ensuring business continuity in case of data loss or system failure.
Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience as an IT Technician, preferably in the movie advertising, post-production, or creative industry.
Proficient with MacOS and Windows operating systems.
An understanding of video editing workflows, large media file management, and graphic design software (AVID, Premiere, After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
Familiarity with project management and collaboration software (Microsoft E3 Level Office 365, G-Suite, Slack).
Familiarity with Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, Okta, Wiredrive, VanDam, and other file-sharing systems
Proficient with Jump Desktop, RGS, Teradici
Proficient with Spinning Disk (Nexis/JBOD/RAID/NAS) and backups (LTO/RSYNC/RESILIO/RETROSPECT)
Knowledge of server and storage management, including media servers and backup solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members.
Familiarity with IT security practices and TPN security audits.
Ready to guide change and work effectively with outside INFOSEC to meet the changing security landscape while being agile and responsive to the creative speed of the facility.
Interest and ability to manage and grow a small team.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional nights or weekends.

Hours: 10a-7p with possible OT
Location: Onsite
Compensation:
$75K - $120K
