Discover AI in Daily Life
Welcome to our asynchronous professional learning experience about AI. This mini-course will cover artificial intelligence concepts using QuickDraw!, AutoDraw, Google Translate, and Google Slides. Through a series of videos and hands-on activities, you will be introduced to AI and the role it can play in your daily life.
All of the contents of this mini-course are embedded within the course document linked below. To receive CTLE credit for this mini-course, you are required to watch all of the videos linked in the course document as well as complete the embedded questions for each of the activity prompts as outlined in the course document. This mini-course will close on June 7, 2025 at midnight (meaning all work needs to be completed and submitted using the Form linked below by this date/time). All those who have completed the course requirements will receive 2 hours of CTLE credit and a certificate of completion.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
Provide a basic explanation of how artificial intelligence works.
Discuss some benefits and challenges of using artificial intelligence.
Identify a few well-known tools that use artificial intelligence.
Provide examples of how artificial intelligence is used around the world on a typical day.
This mini-course is broken into 10 sections. For sections 1-9 you are required to view all of the videos, read article(s), complete each activity and document your learning where prompted within the course document. For section 10, you are required to complete ONLY ONE extension activity. When you are finished, you will submit the link to your completed course document using the submission form, which is also linked below. Be sure to update your share settings to “anyone with the link can view”.
Pro Tips:
All of the course content is pulled from the Google Applied Digital Skills - you do not need to login to their site to complete this course - simply navigate to the content by clicking on the links throughout the course document.
The series of videos are all hyperlinks within the course document below. However, you can also navigate through the videos by clicking “Next” located under each of the videos (see image to right).
The videos will refer you to a reflection document… It is what we are referring to as our course document, and you will record all of your responses within this document. Also, do not worry about the format of this document - it will change as you enter your responses.
You will be prompted to 'Make a Copy' - all of the course content is within the document, and it is also where you will record your work. Submit this completed document using the Submission Form linked below.
