We are growing strong!
2025-2026 School Year
Dear Smith Clove Families,
It’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through the school year—and halfway through winter, too! February always seems to arrive quickly, bringing with it new energy, important learning, and meaningful opportunities to connect as a school community.
A heartfelt thank you to our PTA, who continues to provide fun, engaging, and meaningful events for our children and families. We are so grateful for their time, energy, and dedication to our school community.
As a reminder, our PTA is sponsoring our upcoming Dance-A-Thon! This exciting event is a wonderful way for our children to stay active, have fun with friends, and with family support, this will support programs that benefit all of our students. We look forward to a joyful and energetic celebration!
With all that February brings, we will continue building on our academic goals while also celebrating the importance of kindness, respect, and community. These values are at the heart of everything we do, and it’s wonderful to see them reflected in our classrooms and hallways each day.
Please remember to help your child come to school prepared each day—well-rested, dressed for the weather, and ready to learn. Regular attendance plays a key role in student success, and we truly appreciate your continued support in making school a priority.
As always, communication between home and school is essential. We value our partnership with you and are grateful to work together in support of our students.
Wishing you and your family a warm and wonderful February!
Fondly,
Christine Arlt, Ed.D.
As we head into the winter months, we are reminding all M-W families to please have arrangements in place for your child in the event of a 2-hour delay, early dismissal or school closure, and to make sure your child is aware of these alternative plans.
SchoolMessenger is the district’s primary parent/guardian notification system. As always, parents and guardians may receive important notifications from the if there is a change to the student schedule or if school is closed, we will notify families by 5 a.m. via email, phone or text (if opted in, see instructions), based on preferences selected on the Parent/Student Portal. Information will also be posted on the district’s website, Facebook page and Instagram account.
Stay warm and Happy December, Crusaders!
Free Meals - All Students
2025-2026 School Year Reminder
All students enrolled at Monroe-Woodbury Central School District are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch in school at no charge to your household each day of the 2025-2026 school year.
All students will be able to participate in these meal programs on the first day of school without having to pay a fee or submit an application. All schools provide a breakfast program for students upon entry into school and a lunch program for students in the cafeteria.
School meal programs offer breakfast and lunch meals that meet strict federal nutrition standards, aligned with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and are planned with student preferences in mind. If packing food from home, students can add to their home brought lunch at no cost by choosing at least three of the five items offered, (e.g., low fat milk, proteins, whole grains, vegetables, and fruits), one of which must be a vegetable or fruit. We invite students to show their support for their school food service program through participation.
