Welcome back, MWMS!
We have had an excellent start to the school year! It’s wonderful to see so many smiling faces and to experience the buzz and excitement that comes with the beginning of a new year. I want to extend a warm welcome back to our returning families and a special greeting to those joining us for the first time. I look forward to partnering with you throughout the year to make it one of growth, achievement, and memorable experiences for all our students.
Our pick up and drop-off procedures have been running smoothly at the start of the year. As a reminder, first period begins at 8:15 a.m., and all students are expected to be in their first period class by that time. Please see the attached diagrams for details of our morning drop-off and afternoon pick up procedures.
Parking Lot Arrival/Pick Up Plans:
For morning drop-offs, please have your child exit the vehicle once you are parked along the sidewalk, regardless of your position in line. To maintain smooth traffic flow, safety personnel will direct 10 cars at a time to release their children along the sidewalk next to the building.

I want to thank you once again for being an integral part of our school community. Effective communication between school and home is crucial for student success. We encourage you to stay connected with us through our newsletters, website, and social media channels. Our teachers and staff are available to discuss any questions or concerns you might have, and we look forward to working closely with you to support your child’s educational journey.
With warmest regards,
Christopher Berger
MWMS Principal
Mrs. Angelica Giordano-Hughes
Mrs. Giordano-Hughes has been a teacher for 6 years- all of them at Monroe-Woodbury!
What she cherishes most about teaching is the opportunity to witness students' academic and social growth, as well as the collaborative spirit of working with fellow educators to design new curricula for students.
Outside of the classroom, she finds joy in working out, experimenting with Italian recipes, and spending time with her adorable mixed-breed dog, Mucca.
NEWS AND NOTES
This month, the Library is welcoming new and returning students! They are proudly displaying new arrivals and busy checking out books to eager readers. Students are learning how to navigate the catalog and the shelves; they are ready for a fantastic year of exploring and discovering the magic of the Library!
Mrs. Angeloro's 8th grade art students kicked off the year learning to draw using their observation skills. They will be creating mixed media Autumn-inspired artworks.
Mrs. Foster's 7th grade art students are starting the school year with Zentangle designs. The goal of Zentangle is to achieve calm, and the practice is said to help people focus, relax, and find inner peace. Zentangle can be done anywhere and with a variety of tools and surfaces, but the original Zentangle art is done on a white square tile with black ink. They are off to a great start!
Music is back at MWMS! Our dedicated students are waking up for their early AM rehearsals, attending their lessons, and more. The music wing, quiet only a couple of weeks ago, is now a bustling community led by our incredible faculty.
