1. Be in your assigned seat when the bell rings with all necessary materials ready and your mind set to learn.
2. Keep hands and feet to yourself.

4. Work done in this class will only be work this class. Do NO other class work.
5. Cell phone use is enforced as per the school policy presented in the student handbook and the rules you received and signed in class.
Consequences
1. Unexcused Tardiness: -5 points per occurrence with possible parent call if excessive.
2. Doing work for another class: -5 points per occurrence
3. Head down on desk or sleeping: - 5 points per occurrence
4. Cell phone use after first warning: -5 points per occurrence and removal of phone from your person. If your phone is removed from you more than once in this class, your parents will be contacted and the phone will only be given to them. Yes, this means you go without your phone until your parents pick it up from me at a mutually agreed upon time!
5. Vulgarity, cursing, or vulgar conversation: Write an essay on the proper use of our language, or another assigned topic. This will be part of your nine-week grade.
6. Disrespectfulness to anyone: Apologize in front of the class. Write an essay on respect. This will be part of your nine-week grade.
7. Physical harassment or aggressiveness, or threats: Immediate referral to office.
Every marking period you will begin with 100 points in your Participation Grade. If these points lapse during the marking period, you will be graded accordingly. Since this is part of your class participation, attendance, preparedness, and conduct grade, you will lose 10% of your quarter grade.
At any time, I might choose to:
1. Assign you to develop an action plan for your behavior. This will be part of your nine-week grade. This is a written and behavioral assignment and will require initial and follow-up meetings with me.
2. Call your home.
3. Assign a detention – after school with me.
4. Send you immediately to the office.
5. Any combination of the above.
Rewards
Rewards are based on behavior that allows the class to run smoothly and allow learning to occur.
1. Class conduct grade, maximum 100 points per nine week period, plus extra credit for extra involvement and leadership. This is an A+ that I give you as a gift at the beginning of each nine weeks because of my expectation that you want our class to be a fun, safe, effective learning environment. It is up to you whether you keep all 100 of these points. This is the grade that is affected by a loss of points, as described in the “consequences” section above.
