SYLLABUS
Grades are based on:
Participation, Homework, IXL, Quizzes and Tests
Participation will make up 10% of your grade. This is determined by your readiness for the lesson (pencil, paper, homework, binder, etc), and by your positive contributions in class.
Homework will be given on a daily basis, which will make up 15% of your grade. Homework will be checked at the beginning of class everyday. Depending on the assignment, homework will be graded for completion or accuracy.
IXL will make up 20% of your grade. There are usually about 3 skills given at the beginning of every week to support the lessons addressed in class. Time management is needed to make sure they get done before the beginning of the following week.
Quizzes will be given to ensure the skills are being learned and to help guide instruction. There will be 1 or 2 administered in every unit of study, which will make up 25% of your grade.
Tests make up 30% of your trimester grade. You may be allowed to do corrections if additional learning is needed to accomplish understanding of the skills being assessed.
Extra Help: I will make myself available to help with any homework, quiz/test corrections, or any other concerns before school(8:00-8:10am), after school (2:45-3:00pm), during flex or during lunch/recess. There also is Homework Club offered after school till 3:30pm.
Absences and missed work: Making up any missed work due to absences is your responsibility. Please call a homework buddy and/or google classroom and the math landing page before you return to school to find out about any work or notes you missed. If you still have questions or need handouts, please check with me before school, during homeroom, during flex, or after school.
