Não sou fã de esculpir alfinetes de abóbora. Não gosto de sujar as mãos com as entranhas de abóbora e não gosto quando as abóboras ficam de fora por um tempo e começam a apodrecer e os animais as destroem. MAS meus filhos adoram esculpir abóboras. Então, no último fim de semana, fizemos isso. Isla esculpiu as dela sozinha, e eu ajudei Ollie. Adivinha? Os animais já as destruíram.

I am not a fan of carving pumkpins. I don't like getting the pumpkin guts on my hands and I don't like when the pumpkins sit out for a while, start to rot, and animals pick them to pieces. BUT my kids love to carve pumpkins. So, last weekend we did it. Isla carved her's mostly on her own, and I helped Ollie. Guess what? The animals already destroyed them.

This week was pretty uneventful at the Katz house. So, I am going to share more about our trip to New York. In addition to the Color Factory, we also went to a place called Trolls x CAMP. It was like walking into the movie Trolls. The girls loved it, and we got to meet Princess Poppy!

Last weekend my family traveled to New York City. We were so busy! We were only there for two days but we crammed A LOT of activity in. The best part was seeing Aladdin on Broadway. I am trying to learn how to french braid my kids' hair. It's so frustrating and I'm SO BAD at it. This was my latest attempt on Ollie. It was a few weeks ago and I got frustrated and haven't tried it since. I really need to have a growth mindset. If I keep practicing, I will get better!

I told you all in school how I brought Isla and Ollie to the Powwow in Aquinnah this year. It was so awesome and inclusive. There was delicious food, beautiful clothing and art to purchase, and lots of drumming and dancing. This is a picture of me and the girls dancing around the fire at the Powwow. We will definitely be going back next year!

What an incredible fall we have been having! Isla, Ollie and I have been trying to spend as much time as possible outside before the weather gets colder. This is a picture of us on State Beach last week. It was a PERFECT night. We met up with a bunch of our friends and had pizza on the beach. The girls were even able to swim in the ocean!

My summer vacation has been SO MUCH FUN so far. I have spent a TON of time with family and friends, and I am loving every minute of it. I hope you are, too! Este fim de semana fiz um monte de coisas que não gosto. Andei de trenó, entrei na piscina do Y... mas fiz essas coisas porque meus filhos queriam muito, e tento o meu melhor para ser uma boa mãe. This weekend I did a bunch of things that I don't enjoy. I went sledding, I went in the pool at the Y... but I did these things because my kids really wanted to, and I try my best to be a good mom. At one point, Isla needed me to show her how to go sledding on her tummy, so I had to do it myself. My dad snapped this picture. I think it's hysterical because I literally haven't been sledding since I was 10!

Last weekend we went to go see the Clifford exhibit at the MV Museum. It's really awesome! Did any of you go see it? I think it is going to be there until July, so if you haven't seen it yet, you should! The author of the Clifford books lived in Edgartown for a long time, which is pretty cool. This is Isla with Clifford on the opening day of the exhibit.

A few weeks ago we went to Mashpee to visit Josh's family. This is a picture of Isla and Ollie with their twin cousins Cedar and Josephine. They are one week older than Isla. It was so exciting to get a little snow this week! I really dislike the snow, but Isla and Ollie were PUMPED. I got them all bundled up and they went out to our backyard to play and make snow angels and snowmen. Since I don't like getting wet and cold in the snow, I stayed inside and drank my nice hot coffee!

Over the break, my sister came down with her family. She has a son named Theo, who is 5, and a daughter named Noemi, who is 3. They are the exact same ages as Isla and Ollie! Whenever they all get together they have so much fun. This is a picture of them at the Black Dog on the day after Christmas. We all went out to lunch together in fancy Christmas clothes. It was really fun!

Well folks, she's hanging in there! Annabelle is actually doing pretty well, all things considered. She's eating again and seems to have some energy to play and go on walks. We are continuing to soak up any time we have left with her, and we are enjoying her sweetness each day. This picture was taken this weekend :)

As you know, this has been a very sad and stressful week at the Katz house. Our sweet girl, Annabelle, is very sick. After spending one night in the hospital we were able to take her home, and she is doing pretty well for now. We are soaking in all her snuggles and kisses. Last week we decorated our house for Christmas. The girls were super excited to decorate the tree. This is a picture of me and Isla hanging an ornament. I tried to get the girls to space the ornaments out so they weren't all crowded in one spot... It didn't really work and the tree looks crazy, but that's ok!

This is my Good Girl, Annabelle. She is 12.5 years old (which is pretty old for a dog). I adopted her from a shelter when she was 1.5 years old, and we've been together ever since. I adopted her before I met Josh, and WAY before I had Isla. She is the sweetest dog. She loves to snuggle and give kisses. Isn't she a cutie?

Today we carved Isla and Ollie's pumpkins! Isla wanted her Jack-o-Lantern to have triangular features, and Ollie wanted her's to have circular features. I'm not great at this kind of crafty stuff, but I think they came out pretty well! I tried to have a growth mindset while making them!

Last weekend we went to the Pumpkin Festival at Morning Glory Farm. It was so fun! We went pumpkin bowling, and the girls went through a hay maze. We also danced to some music, ate delicious pumpkin bread, and Isla and Ollie both got to choose a pumpkin to take home. We are going to carve them this weekend!

My parents are SUPER helpful with Isla and Ollie. Anytime I have to work late, or have an appointment, they always come get them and take them to do something fun. Last weekend Josh and I took the girls to Tivoli Day in town. I bet some of you were there, too! After Tivoli Day we went to Waban Park to fly Isla's new kite. It was super fun, and the girls were really into it... unil... the kite string snapped! The kite went flying away into the sky, never to be seen again!

Last Friday my whole family celebrated my Dad! He was awarded the Spirit of the Vineyard this year. This award is given to an islander each year who has committed their time to serving our community. My dad has done a lot to help the island throughout his life, and I am so proud of him!

You might not know this, but my Mom owns a small horse farm. She has four horses, who are all very sweet. This weekend we went up to the barn to ride the horses. Our family had a really awesome winter break. Although we spent the first part of it sick, we still enjoyed our holiday celebrations with family. Our family had to spend Thanksgiving in quarantine because Josh tested positive for COVID. It was very calm and quiet. We rested a lot. It was just the four of us for the meal, so we sat around our little table, decorated with Isla and Ollie's artwork. The weather has been SO AMAZING. We have been trying to get outside as much as we can, especially on the weekends. Last weekend we went to State Beach. We had a picnic, played in the sand, and took Annabelle for a long walk. Isla and Ollie wanted to run up and down the shore right near the water. I ran with them a little bit. Isla dresses herself every morning. We are not even allowed to suggest an outfit, she is very specific with her style. This is what she chose to wear to school on Tuesday. In case you can't tell, it's hot pink leggings with a tutu skirt and a Celtics jersey. Life with Isla is never boring!

The big news in my life this week is that I FINALLY FOUND A CAR! It's nothing fancy... It's a 2010 Kia Soul, but I love it and I'm very excited to start driving it to school! It has a manual transmission, so I have to learn how to drive it safely, but I'm already getting better and better. Keep your eyes out for my new silver baby outside the school!

I had a fantastic Thanksgiving with my family. How about you? This year, Josh and I were in charge of hosting the meal... which was the first time we have ever done that! My parents came over, Josh's parents came from New Hampshire, and his sister Emily joined us, too. The food was yummy and we all really loved getting to spend some time together.
