How is your building promoting wellness?

Across the district, building teams are finding their own unique way to connect with one another, and encourage each other to take their own wellness seriously. Talk with your colleagues, your School Counselor, or your building administrator to find out what your building is doing if you don't know yet. And, we hope you'll join in with your building in the creative ways to stay healthy, make connections and re-energize with your colleagues.

Wanted: Workforce Mental Health Committee members

January 2021

Our School Board adopted a new policy in December regarding Workforce Secondary Traumatic Stress – P/P 5515. Legislation passed last spring has acknowledged the toll the Secondary Traumatic Stress.

This legislation directs districts to make policy and procedures that support staff health and well-being. Further, it directs the establishment of a district-wide workforce mental health committee charged with providing relevant resources for staff. We are looking for staff who have an interest to serve on our Workforce Mental Health Committee. Specifically, we need one classified and one teacher from K-8, one classified and one teacher from the high school, and one school counselor or social worker. We anticipate our committee meeting two or three times each year and committee members will be compensated. Please contact Jon Ronngren or Bill Cheney if you are interested.
