The term Core is used to describe the combination of English Language Arts and Social Studies. It's also known in some schools as the Humanities. Over the course of 7th grade, we will blend the subjects to maximize learning and curiosity.
In ELA, we will work on the 7th grade Common Core Standards for reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Good communication is an art.

The Reading Class utilizes a specially designed, research-based instructional program called REWARDS for Secondary Students. This program is based on the latest research to increase students’ ability to read fluently, spell, comprehend multisyllabic words and grade level academic vocabulary, and the texts that contain those words. The Reading Class also uses assorted literature and games to increase decoding and comprehension success, as well as reading rate and accuracy.
