Meet Mrs. McBroom

Kara McBroom is the Kindergarten teacher at Rural Special Elementary. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Arkansas Tech University, a Master's Degree in Educational Theory and Practice from Arkansas State University, and is currently working on a Specialist Degree in Administration. Mrs. McBroom has been teaching Kindergarten for six years and taught third grade for four years before that.

Mrs. McBroom lives in Rushing. She and her husband, Derick, have nine children- five girls (Lauren, Lynsee, Sabrina, Sheradyn, Tenley) and four boys (Luke, Shane, T.J., Tyden)  and one grandson (Aiden). Seven of their children still live at home. She loves being a mom and a teacher and both keep her very busy. Her family enjoys camping, swimming, and traveling. Her favorite place is the beach. A little known fact about Mrs. McBroom is that she is extremely shy until she gets to know you and she is terrified of public speaking.

Mrs. McBroom loves teaching Kindergarten and strives to ensure that every child gets exactly what they need each day, physically, emotionally, and academically.
