WELCOME!!
Hello! Appreciate you checking my page and browsing the resources!! Please don't hesitate to contact me at school should you have any concerns or questions regarding your student. Mountain View Middle School is a great place to land -- we have some of the most supportive teachers and staff to help through the transition years.
I have been lucky enough to be an educator for 40 years --- wow, just did the math on that on and sure enough (!) -- 40 years. I'm trusting during that time I have found some answers and had similar situations so that my experience may benefit you and yours.
I am available at the Middle School from 7:40 am- 3:20 pm on school days or by email lmorrison@mvschools.net Please leave a message if I am unavailable and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Should you be in a crisis situation where assistance is needed immediately, please seek assistance at an Emergency Room or with the local law enforcement.
School info is in our Student Handbook https://www.mountainviewschooldistrict.k12.ar.us/documents/state-required-information/student-handbook-2024-2025/507128
Do you have to take the Semester Tests?
Always follow the MVMS Handbook --
Semester test info link is below or go to page 86 of your 24-25 Handbook.
SEMESTER TEST EXEMPTION
Students with an “A” and no more than 5 absences will be exempt from semester tests. Students with a “B” and no more than 4 absences
will be exempt from semester tests. Students with a “C” and no more than 3 absences will be exempt from semester tests. Students with
a “D” and no more than 2 absences will be exempt from semester tests.
1. Absences for school sponsored or sanctioned activities (including college days, military service, job shadowing, and achievement
days) will not be counted in determining a student’s test exemption eligibility.
2. A student who is exempt from testing in a class may take a semester test in an effort to raise their letter grade in that class;
however, that student’s grade may not be lowered as a result of taking the test.
3. Students who are exempt from semester tests do not have to report to school on semester test days or review days. Students
may leave school after their last semester test of the day if they have parental permission and have signed out in the office.
4. Any and all absences (not for school related activity) will be counted against Semester Test Exemption status.
5. Achievement Days earned by a qualifying test score will not count as absences.
You can check your attendance and grades on your HAC account.

Calendar for End of Semester testing will be inserted here when available. 😊
Peer Conflict is a normal part of growing up. Students fuss with their friends and often make rude, unnecessary comments. Bullying is different. It is repeated, intentional and involves power imbalance. If bullying is happening, please let us know. Teachers and administration cannot help with a problem if we aren't informed. Please encourage your student to let me or an adult they trust know if bullying is happening at Mountain View Middle School whether it is our building or on the bus. One of our top priorities is that our students feel safe!!!
Posting on Facebook or contacting another child's parent is not a good solution. Recognize that you are hearing one perspective. Give the school administration an opportunity to handle it.
If a student makes a threat (verbally, written, texted, etc.) or overhears one, please let someone at school know. Again, if our students don't feel safe, they aren't where they can learn.

Great Instagram --- I sent this by email to 7th and 8th grade. Ten questions to ask themselves if they didn't get the grade they expected.
