Often times, if an update is pending, the 3 vertical dot icon will be colored:

Green: An update was released less than 2 days ago.

Orange: An update was released about 4 days ago.
Orange: An update was released about 4 days ago.
Red: An update was released at least a week ago.

You can click on whichever color you are seeing which should take you directly to the Update Google Chrome page. If that's the case, please follow the on-screen prompts.

Click on the the dots located in the upper right-hand corner
Look for where it says 'Help,' then hover over it with the cursor. Now, you'll want to click on the option titled 'About Google Chrome.'
Look for it to say something like "Chrome is out of date, Click here to update.' It may not say that exactly, but it should be similar. After clicking 'Update' you'll see the the option 'Relaunch.' Please click 'Relaunch' and you should be good to go.
Once Chrome has closed and reopened you can go back in and verify that it says, " Google Chrome Is Up To Date."
