Developmental Screenings

Parents as Teachers hosts all of the Early Childhood screenings in the Meramec Valley School District. The P.A.T. program offers yearly screenings of your child's overall development, health, hearing and vision to provide early detection of potential problems and prevent later difficulties in school.

3 Months through 35 Months of Age Screenings The developmental screening takes place during the home visit for the child 3 months old to 3 years of age. Health and functional hearing and vision screenings are also provided in the home.

3 and 4 Year Old Screenings This monthly screening is for children who are at least 3 years old and have not been screened by the Parent Educator during the current school year. The children are screened in the areas of motor, concepts (colors and numbers), language, hearing and vision.

Kindergarten Screenings are NOT offered at this time.

Results will be given to parents immediately following the screening. Screenings provide a yearly opportunity for parents to see where their child's progress fits in with standardized measures of child development.
