Serving Students in Transition
The Medina Valley ISD McKinney-Vento Program is dedicated to supporting families and unaccompanied youth who are experiencing temporary housing situations due to the loss of stable housing.
Each MVISD campus has a McKinney-Vento Liaison who is the first point of contact for families. Campus liaisons can assist with enrollment, services, and immediate needs. If additional support is required, the District Homeless Liaison is available to help ensure that barriers to school attendance are removed and that students can continue to succeed academically.
We also work closely with a network of community partners—including shelters, food pantries, clinics, and service providers—to connect families with the resources they need.
For questions or more information, please first contact your campus McKinney-Vento Liaison. If further assistance is needed, you may reach out to the District Homeless Liaison at (830) 931-2243 Ext. 8163.
If you or someone you know have lost their housing and now live in a shelter, motel, vehicle, campground, or temporary trailer; on the street; living with family or friends (doubled-up); or in another type of temporary or inadequate housing, your child may be able to receive help through a federal law called the McKinney-Vento Act. Any and all information will be kept confidential.
