The Masterclass Participants
The Masterclass Participants
Dear Applicants
Thank you for your overwhelming interest in the Mediation Masterclass — we believe that it is a clear sign of the growing recognition of mediation as a meaningful mode of dispute resolution.
We received 332 applications for 48 places — nearly seven times oversubscribed. Most of you met the eligibility criteria, and it was extremely difficult for us to limit the intake.
In response to your enthusiasm and in keeping with our commitment to expanding access, we have decided to double the batch size from 48 to 96 participants, on the previously announced terms and conditions, including a full fee waiver.
As announced earlier, this inaugural edition was open to junior lawyers and senior law students. Applicants were expected to have a sound understanding of law, working proficiency in both English and Malayalam, and reliable access to digital infrastructure. They were also required to commit to attending the full programme and to contributing to the outreach activities of Project M for Mediation.
Selection was based on a holistic assessment of academic and professional background, interest in mediation, and capacity to contribute meaningfully to the objectives of Project M. We also sought diversity in age, gender, and regional representation as far as practicable. In rare cases, we relaxed some of the requirements.
We were unable to select applicants who could not commit to the in-person workshops, as these are an integral part of the Masterclass. At the same time, we are pleased to share that, in response to strong demand from outstation candidates, we are developing an online-only version of this course, which we expect to launch by early 2026. Please stay tuned to this webpage for updates.
If you were not selected this time, we encourage you to apply for the next edition, which we expect to announce in the first quarter of 2026. In the meantime, you are invited to join the wider Project M for Mediation community via our WhatsApp group.
For those selected, further instructions will be shared via WhatsApp shortly — please watch for our message.
Once again, our sincere thanks to all applicants for your enthusiasm and support. We look forward to your continued engagement with Project M for Mediation and to building, together, a vibrant culture of mediation in Kerala.
Warm regards
Rajesh C Muttath
