Background of Establishment
~Our Passion for the Organization~
In the village named Dumri near Bodh Gaya, India, a father with a family of five has to work at a construction site for less than 350 INR a day for a maximum of 15 days a month. He has no savings and lives on the edge of hunger. He cannot read or write. He doesn't think that his children's education is important at all. No matter how much they want to learn, they are forced into what is generally called child labor. Of course, they work to eat their daily food, and it is difficult to blame the parents for this situation.
When I found my answer to the question of "work = influencing someone and getting paid for it," at the same time I did not know "what kind of influence I wanted to have on whom."
When I was backpacking after university of Tokyo and working in India, I met people "who wanted to make their own efforts, but couldn't because of the external reasons not by their fault."
Most of the world follows capitalism, which requires making a profit by making something and selling it at a high price. As long as this system is in place, it is inevitable that there will be differences.
However, it is also true that many people who are not able to make their own efforts due to external reasons.
There are many social activists who are working to solve this situation.
However, the problem has not been solved.
This is because the problems continue to increase, and the people who work to solve them have their own jobs and lives, and they need to promote the system in order to earn "money". And while these people are respected and trusted in the field, many of them are not good at raising funds, contacting supporters, social activities, failures and successes, innovations, know-how, and so on.
I was saddened and angered by the situation I saw in Guatemala and India, where people were unable to make their own efforts due to lack of opportunities caused by the external environment, and I decided to take action to prepare myself for the impact I would have.
In 2020 and 2021, we provided food and medical aid to a total of 10,000 people in the Corona Disaster in emergency situations, and over 250 people donated over 3 million INR, all of which was used for on-the-spot activities. At that time, we strongly felt the need to create a situation where urgent donations are not necessary even when there are changes in the external environment, and we decided to work as an organization.
At the same time, I talked with people who were actually working in the field, and through working together with them, I decided to create a frame to solve problems while cooperating with them to solve them.
On the other hand, Japan has a "challenge" in that there are many people over 65 years old who have a wealth of knowledge, connections, and funds. I do not regard that as the issue. There may be events that are caused by old age, such as dementia, and issues that arise from such events, but rather than working to prevent such events, we are working to solve social issues around the world with their precocious knowledge, connections, and funds of various people. Naturally, we will work together with people, companies, and organizations that seek to solve social issues, regardless of age.
This is the background of the establishment of the NPO, Musubite. There are people in Japan who want to do something but do not know what to do. In fact, we sometimes receive donations from individuals. As an organization that connects such "Conscience to Conduct" solutions to specific issues, we are committed to changing the situation where "people are unable to make efforts due to the external reasons". We will create a world in which all people, regardless of nationality or race, can "finish the day thinking about tomorrow" by changing the situation of "not being able to make their own efforts due to the external reasons.
