Paul Rodriguez was born October 18, 1945, at General Hospital, Los Angeles, California. He attended Our Lady Of Guadalupe in El Sereno, Soto Street School, and Santa Isabel before attending Salesian in 1959.
Paul could not see himself at either Cathedral or Cantwell, even though the circumstances at Salesian were unique-- only two classes, 9th and 10th grade, were being offered at the time. He was a member of the second class to enter Salesian before the school had graduated a senior class.
Salesian provided an opportunity to grow with the school. And, that's exactly what Paul did, becoming an active member of the student body and joining the Lettermen Society. He proudly received his diploma in 1963, a member of Salesians second graduating class. Paul went on to attend East Los Angeles Community College, UC Santa Barbara, and Cal State LA, where he earned two Master's degrees
Paul has been married 15 years to Jacqueline Rodriguez, his emotional supporter and academic peer. He is blessed with three wonderful children, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild
Paul thanks Salesian for providing a spiritual foundation and a strong work ethic he still practices today. His inspiration and role models for teaching are: Fr. Ralph Murphy, Mr. Dan Buckley, Br. Rudy, and Br. Tom Keegan. He looks forward to many more years of service in education.
We thank and salute you Paul for your success, dedication, and contribution to the community.
