The Track season will start the week of March 17th, 2025.
Admission is free for all home track meets. Please stay off the track and in-field at all times!
The Track & Field team consists of 6 groups competing together as one Russell team. There are 3 girls teams (7th grade, 8th grade and C girls) and 3 boys teams (A boys, B boys and C boys). Our meets take place on campus and at various off campus locations. There are 11 different events that athletes can try to compete in. Each athlete can participate in a maximum of 4 events at each of the meets.
Your division is based on your age, height and weight. You can see the exponent list HERE.

At most meets the order of Track events is as follows:
1600m race (1 mile)
65m hurdles
4x100 relay
800m run (1/2 mile)
100m run
4x400 relay
The field events are held throughout the meet. Some meets have "open pits" where kids have a certain amount of time to complete their event. At other meets each level has a specific order that they compete in.

Qualifiers for all 1600m Runs: See Heat #1 for qualifiers. Entries listed in remaining heats (if any) do not qualify at this time.
Qualifiers for all 65mH Events: See Heats #1 & #2 for qualifiers. Entries listed in remaining heats (if any) do not qualify at this time.
Qualifiers for all Relay Races: See Heat #1 for qualifiers. Entries listed in remaining Heats (if any) do not qualify at this time.
Qualifiers for all 800m Runs: See Heat #1 for qualifiers. Entries listed in remaining Heats (if any) do not qualify at this time.
Qualifiers for all 100m Dash events: See Heats #1 & #2 for qualifiers. Entries listed in remaining Heats (if any) do not qualify at this time.
Qualifiers for all Field Events: See Flight #1 for qualifiers. Entries listed in remaining Flights (if any) do not qualify at this time.
To Qualify for the Division Meet:
Placement from all of the Division entries will be the following:
1600 & 800 - top 16 total from all submissions in each division. 1 race per division
65H & 100 - top 16 total from all submissions in each division. 2 total heats per division
4x100 & 4x400 - top 8 relays from all submission in each division. 1 heat per division
LJ, TJ, HJ, Discus, Shot - top 16 total from all submissions in each division.
Qualifiers for Section Finals at Gilroy High School on May 22 at 4:15pm from the Division finals meets
1600 & 800- Top 6 from north and top 6 from south (1 race of 12 for each division)
65H & 100 - Top 4 from north and top 4 from south (1 heat of 8 for each division)
4x100 & 4x400 - Top 4 from north and top 4 from south (1 heat of 8 for each division)
LJ, TJ, HJ, Discus, Shot - Top 6 from north and top 6 from south for each division
*these submissions will be automatically synced by our timer from the division finals. No need to submit these entries.
