Meet the Teacher

Dear Families, 

I am honored to be teaching your child this year! I am committed to providing your child with a creative and rigorous curriculum in a safe and nurturing learning environment.

I am a native of the Bay Area; my parents immigrated from Gujarat, India. I earned my bachelor's from UCLA, and my master's in elementary education from Brown University. I'm also a mom to a little boy, Ahimsa! Which means that I have no time left to myself, as I'm sure you can understand 😂.

I have been teaching 5th grade at Zanker for many many years -- and I LOVE IT!  In my classroom, I expect my students to be responsible, respectful, flexible, and diligent.  I emphasize that learning is a journey, not a destination, and so I focus more on giving feedback and guidance versus giving grades.
