Our class will be following an integrated curriculum that aligns with NGSS, or the Next Generation Science Standards. Click here for an overview of the standards
*Note - the science curriculum will be taught along with the social justice standards, as students will learn about inequities in science. This will allow students to strengthen critical thinking skills and a sense of self-efficacy.

New textbooks: FOSS Curriculum
The Rancho Science department will be implementing new curriculum guided by FOSS.
Since this is the 3rd year we are using FOSS, changes may be made to pacing as the year continues.
Curriculum follows the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
Students will access interactive textbooks through their Clever homepages (with MUSD google logins)

GOOGLE CLASSROOM
I will be posting ALL assignments on Google Classroom for students to complete and submit. A brief tutorial for how my google classroom is organized can be found below! GOOGLE CLASSROOM IS HOME BASE.
QUIZIZZ
Quizizz is an engaging way to assess student knowledge. Quizzes are created by me and shared on google classroom. Students can replay games as many times as possible. Click here for a practice quizizz (click the green practice button)!
BLOOKET
Blooket is an exciting new take on the modern classroom review game. It aims to match action with education to create the ultimate learning experience!
EDPUZZLE
Edpuzzle is a video assessment app in which students can watch educational videos and test their knowledge as they watch. Edpuzzle assignments will be posted through Google Classroom.
PADLET
Padlet is like an online whiteboard with virtual sticky notes, allowing for dynamic discussions on various topics.
EXPLORE LEARNING: GIZMOS (VIRTUAL LABS)
Gizmos provides interactive science simulations. Students will be assessed either through a google doc or google form quiz as they navigate the Gizmo.
CANVA
Canva is a design app that students can use to create presentations, digital posters, infographics, and more!
