Grades are posted on Aeries and will be updated on a regular basis. Please allow a few days after an assignment is completed before grades are updated on Aeries. The grade you see on Aeries at the end of each grading period will be the grade you earn on your report card.
If you have a missing assignment, you will see a ZERO in Aeries until the missing assignment is turned in.
Assignments marked with "NA" in Aeries indicate that your assignment was received but not yet graded. It has no negative impact on your grade, it is a good thing.
***Final semester report card grades are rounded up to the next grade ONLY if you are within 0.5% of the next grade AND do not have any missing assignments AND you resubmitted all assignments you lost points on.
Notify Mr. Ngo if you notice an error with your grade.
Grading Scale:
A+: ≥ 97%
A: 90-97%
B: 80-89%
C: 70-79%
D: 60-69%
F: 59% or below
There is no extra credit offered. If you want to improve your grade, you can persevere and redo certain assignments. See below for more information.
We will try to do most of our work during class time. However, there will be some homework. It will mostly consist of unfinished class assignments, which may include projects. Assignment information and due dates are available on Aeries and Google Classroom.
Students are welcome to redo most assignments to reflect their academic growth and to show improved understanding in an effort to improve their grade. This does not apply on quizzes unless otherwise stated.
When turning in paper assignments: Always write your FIRST and LAST name and class period in the top right corner. No name = Late
Cheating does not demonstrate learning and will not be tolerated and can result in a zero for the assignment. Follow the school wide cheating discipline policy (consult the school handbook for more information). Cheating includes copying AND/OR allowing others to copy.
*If you submit work that is plagiarized from other sources (students, published work, etc.) and or written using generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools, you will have to redo the assignment in your own written words and the highest grade you can earn is 50%.
Assignments turned in late will be deducted 10%. An assignment is considered late when it is turned in after the due date posted in Aeries and Google Classroom. If you have a missing assignment, you will see a ZERO in Aeries until the missing assignment is turned in. All assignments MUST be turned in before the end of each grading period (semester) to count towards your report card grade. Due dates do not apply when you have excused absences. (See below in Absences)
Paper assignments turned in with no name will be considered late.
You are responsible for completing all missed assignments when absent. If you are absent, you should check Aeries and Google Classroom to see what you missed. You will be given extra time to turn in assignments when you have an excused absence. For example, if you have 2 days of excused absences, you will have 2 days after the original posted due date before an assignment is considered late. Please try to notify Mr. Ngo and the office in advance if you plan to be absent.
