With over two decades of dedicated service at Weller Elementary School and a total of 26 years teaching in Milpitas, I am proud to be part of a vibrant educational community. My roots are in Newark, where I grew up and continue to reside. After attending Newark schools through junior high, I graduated from Moreau High School in Hayward, California. My academic journey continued at San Francisco State University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree—a meaningful milestone, as my father was born and raised in San Francisco.
Balancing family life and professional growth, I returned to school to obtain my Teaching Credential while raising my son. In 2017, just prior to remarrying, I completed my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. My career reflects a commitment to lifelong learning and the belief that it is never too late to pursue new aspirations.
Teaching has always been my passion. As a child, I enjoyed playing “school” with my younger sister, who is now a first-grade teacher in Fremont. I am one of four sisters and hold the third spot in our family.
In December 2020, I experienced the profound loss of my husband to cancer. He was a kind and vibrant presence, and I am deeply grateful for the time we shared, especially during his final year when we were able to work from home together. The support of friends and family has been invaluable, and I continue to honor his memory while finding strength in my community.
I am the proud parent of a grown son, Joseph, and the devoted caretaker of my dog, Jax. (We had another dog, Roxie, who passed away this year). My husband and I shared a love for live music—especially Bruce Springsteen—and enjoyed traveling together. Our adventures took us to Mexico, France, England, Germany, Amsterdam, and many destinations across the United States. Since his passing, I have continued our dream by visiting Italy and Scotland.
Our family has cherished many moments attending San Francisco Giants games. It is a privilege to teach in Milpitas, a district I greatly admire. I look forward to a rewarding and engaging year ahead with all of you in our classroom.
