About Me

This is my 18th year teaching at Weller Elementary School, but I have been teaching in Milpitas for 24 years.  I grew up in Newark and continue to live there today.  I attended Newark schools throughout elementary and Jr. High. However, I attended Moreau High School in Hayward, California.  Growing up in the Bay Area, I went to college and graduated from San Francisco State with my Bachelors.  (My father was born in San Francisco, which made it special for me.)  After a few years, I returned to school (my son was 5 at the time) to pursue my Teaching Credential,  Then just before I remarried, in 2017, I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.   (This shows you are never too old to return to school).

I love learning and teaching students, which is why I choose this profession.  I was one of those kids who made her little sister the students and I was always the teacher!  Well, today my younger sister and I are both teachers.  She teaches  first grade in Fremont. .I have three sisters all together (I am #3)

I was married to a wonderful man but lost him in December of 2020.   He passed from cancer. He was a kind man who lit up the room when he entered.  I was fortunate to be home with him during our last year together since we both were working from home.  It is difficult without him, I have many friends and family who give me support.  I miss him incredibly.

I have one grown son, Joseph and I have two spoiled dogs, Roxy and Jax. My husband and I enjoyed listening to live music and traveling to different places.  As a family, the three of us would attended Giants' games together. My husband and I  also like seeing live music (Our favorite is Bruce Springsteen) and traveling.  We have traveled to Mexico, France, England, Germany and Amsterdam, as well as many places in the United States. This last summer, I went to Italy and saw Venice, Florence, Rome and Capri.

I am very proud to teach in Milpitas because it is a wonderful District.   I look forward to new year, together in our classroom.
