Red Ribbon Week Activities (Must go in order)
All activities are independent.
Make sure all work has your first and last name and room number on it.
Keep all work in your binder, unless it does not fit (like the poster).
Activity 1: No smoking letter
Write a letter to smokers, trying to convince them to stop. You can address the letter to someone you know and make it more personal OR you can address the letter to smokers in general. This is your choice.
Use facts you have learned to persuade smokers to stop.
The letter needs to be in proper letter format.
Two paragraph minimum.
Activity 2: Anti-smoking poster
Design a poster to support people that do not smoke and/or convince smokers to stop smoking.
Outline the poster with pencil first. There should be big writing and pictures.
Get the teacher's approval and then color using the art box. (Color with crayon and color pencil and outline with marker. No coloring with marker!)
Activity 3: Anti-smoking comic
Design a comic strip with a storyline about smoking. The comic can be fun and fictional but should have scientific basis.
The comic needs to have 15 frames. NO more, no less.
Use quote bubble and/or captions to help explain what is going on in your story.
Complete a rough draft in your notebook and get it approved by the teacher.
Outline your final draft with pencil first. Then use the art box to color.
