Question #1: What would you suggest I do in high school to prepare for this career?
I suggest getting an apprentice card and start helping and working in that career on days off when I can.
Question #2: What education or training do you need to have for this job?
Four years of schooling consists of two night classes a week. And also four years of hands-on training with 2000 hours a year before you can take the test to get the journeyman's card.
Question #3: How much do most people spend on education and training for this career? Do you have any suggestions for how I can pay for that?
Four years of schooling and four years of hand on training for 8000 hours of working before being able to take the test. State helps pay tuition to work and also Heglar creek will pay for it as long as passing classes.
Question #4: What licenses or certifications are required for this job and how often do they have to be renewed? What does that process look like?
Start off with an apprentice card and be renewed every two years and than get journeyman's card and get renewed every three years, after journeyman's gotta take a 24 hour class to keep journeymans.
