La Società Onoraria Italica - is the Italian National Honor Society.
During their third year of studying Italian, students are able to apply for induction into the Società Onoraria Italica. This is a national organization that honors those students of Italian that complete the following prerequisites. The Nipmuc chapter is named after Maria Montessori, who was an Italian physician and educator.
Requirements:
- Have completed 2 years of Italian classes (so in their junior or senior year)
- An overall average of 80 in all classes.
- Overall average of an 85 (honors) or 90 (CPS) in their language classes.
